TERMS
Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how Finished Right provides inspections, handles bookings and prepares inspection reports.
Important: Finished Right provides visual and non-invasive inspection services. An inspection is not a structural survey, valuation, legal inspection or specialist testing service. The agreed scope for each booking takes priority over general descriptions on this website.
1. About the service
Finished Right provides independent property and workmanship inspections within an agreed scope. The standard service is visual and non-invasive. We do not open up, dismantle, break, remove or otherwise damage building fabric or services.
2. Enquiries and quotations
Submitting an enquiry does not create a booking. We will review the information supplied, clarify the inspection required where necessary, and confirm the proposed scope, price and date before an inspection is booked.
Our standard advertised prices are £495 for up to 3 rooms/areas and £650 for a full-house/new-build inspection. Larger or unusual projects are quoted separately. The price applying to a particular booking is the price confirmed in writing before the inspection.
3. Booking and payment
An inspection is booked only once the scope, price and date have been agreed. Any payment terms, invoice details or deposit requirements will be confirmed with the booking. Where a customer chooses not to proceed, no inspection will take place unless a booking has been confirmed.
4. Customer responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information about the property and the stage of works, giving Finished Right reasonable access to the agreed areas, and identifying any access or safety restrictions that may affect the inspection.
Where access to agreed areas is unavailable, the inspection may need to be limited or rearranged. Any material change to the property or scope should be disclosed before the inspection.
5. Inspection scope and limitations
Unless specifically agreed in writing, the inspection does not include structural engineering, structural calculations, architectural design, valuation, specialist electrical or gas testing, asbestos surveying, invasive investigation, or specialist damp, mould or other specialist testing.
An inspection records visible conditions at the time of the visit. Concealed defects, future failures and defects that are not reasonably observable from the accessible areas may not be identified.
6. Reports
Where a report is included, it records the observations and findings made within the agreed inspection scope. Reports are intended to help the customer understand observed defects, incomplete work and workmanship issues. A report is not a formal building-control certificate, structural engineer's report or guarantee that no other defects exist.
7. Cancellation and rearrangement
If a customer needs to cancel or rearrange an agreed inspection, they should contact Finished Right as soon as possible. Any cancellation or rearrangement charges that apply to a particular booking will be stated in the booking confirmation.
8. Our responsibilities
Finished Right will carry out the agreed service with reasonable care and skill. Where a service is supplied to a consumer, applicable statutory rights are not excluded or reduced by these terms.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to that, Finished Right is responsible only for loss and damage that is reasonably attributable to a failure to provide the agreed service with reasonable care and skill, and does not accept responsibility for matters outside the agreed inspection scope or for defects that were not reasonably observable at the time of inspection.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with an inspection or report, please contact us at info@finishedright.co.uk as soon as possible, explaining the issue. We will review the matter and respond reasonably.
11. Website information
We aim to keep the website accurate and up to date, but website descriptions are general information and do not alter the scope, price or terms confirmed for a specific booking.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights a consumer may have under applicable law.
